Jim Rex was raised in Safford, Arizona and attended Eastern Arizona Junior College, Norther Arizona University, the University of Arizona and in his own words, “the school of hard knocks.”  His world is full of MHS Tigers.  He married Jo Frew Rex who is an MHS graduate and his children both attended MHS.  It is his work with “future” tigers that will be long remembered.  Mr. Rex was a teacher and coach at Marana Middle School for 29 years.  He was a US history teacher and inspired kids to love history.  Many students remember his warm smile and amazing ability to make history come alive.  He coached basketball, football, and volleyball, as well.
