2026 Hall of Fame Inductees

The Marana Alumni Association is proud to announce the Marana High School 2026 Hall of Fame inductees.  Chelsea, Sarah, and Cynthia will be inducted in a morning ceremony at Marana High School on Thursday, February 19.

Elliott
Class of 1981

Dr. Cynthia Mote Elliot is an accomplished Family Nurse Practitioner with a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in nursing from Grand Canyon University (GCU). She has worked in the medical field since 1985, working her way up from a charge nurse, due to her strong work ethic, to also obtaining a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). Dr. Elliott mentored nursing and NP students, volunteered on medical mission trips, led medical studies, and is a published author.

Sarah
Mayhew
Class of 1991

Judge Sarah L. Mayhew is a Tucson City Magistrate and an incredibly accomplished attorney. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in both journalism and history. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate, ranking first in her class at the University of Arizona College of Law. Judge Mayhew practiced as a criminal defense attorney and volunteered in immigration and asylum cases prior to becoming a magistrate judge.

Johnson
Class of 2008

Dr. Chelsea Elise Johnson is a family medicine doctor and the Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Banner Cortaro. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and her medical degree from West Virginia University. In the final year of her residency at The University of Arizona South Campus, she was Chief Resident. Dr. Johnson’s life of service includes providing financial and other support to children in need, as well as providing healthcare to underserved patients.

Our Mission

“The mission of the Alumni Association is to enhance and preserve the image, prestige and traditions of MUSD schools to set an example for current students on why education is important and how to succeed in life.”

  • Honoring alumni for outstanding accomplishments and/or contributions to the school, students and/or the community
  • Paying It Forward by offering scholarships to help fund future graduates to further their academic careers
  • Serving as mentors to current students, preparing them for future community roles
  • Preserving the image, prestige and traditions of Marana schools
  • Promoting school spirit and pride in the students through historical knowledge
  • Assisting reunion groups with locating alumni
  • Developing email lists and websites for the alumni association
  • Invitation to homecoming and other activities
