Dan Post

Years At MHS: Until 2023

Dan was born in Tucson, and he was raised in the Binghampton area, a community established along the Rillito River in 1916, where families of his faith had settled.  On the corner lot of Dodge and Ft. Lowell, his parents built and ran a feedstore, the OK Post’s Feed and Supply, which is still in operation today.  Dan loved Binghampton and the opportunity it gave him to have a wonderful childhood.

In addition to being a farmer, rancher, team roper, and community leader, Dan was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a passion for serving in his church.    After graduating from the University of Arizona in Ag Sciences in 1965, Dan and Patricia lived in Hereford and then Winkleman until their move to Marana in 1970, where together they spent their days and years farming, ranching, serving in their church, and raising a family of 11 children.  For the past 50 years, Dan has been a dedicated community leader whose love for the Marana area prompted him to serve on various boards to ensure a great community for all.  He served on the Cortaro Marana Irrigation Board, the Marana Western Heritage Association, and the Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation.  No doubt his greatest service to the community was as a school board member for over 40 years in the Marana Unified School District.
