Edward Anway
Edward Anway’s family moved to the Marana area when he was one year old and his family established one of the earliest farms in the area. In 1949, Edward and his family drilled the first irrigation well in Avra Valley to supply water for their farms. In over 40 years as a cotton farmer and cattle rancher, Mr. Anway helped to establish the Marana community. Her served as a board member of the Farm Bureau, was a member of the Marana FFA Advisory Committee, organized the Marana branch of the Kiwanis Club, served as auxiliary deputy for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and served on the Trico Electric Cooperative’s board for over 28 years. His dedication to education in our community can be seen in his service as a Marana School Board member for 6 years and his chairmanship of the Marana Day Care Facility committee.
