Roy Grant Woods passed away September 15, 2007 in Lakeside, Arizona. Born November 13, 1927 in Miami, Arizona, youth in Thatcher, Arizona.

Roy Woods was principal of Ray District High School. He was principal and personnel director of the original Marana High School, and he planned for and was principal of the Marana High School on Emigh Road.

In his lifetime, Roy Woods served as president of North Central Accreditation Association and president of Arizona Secondary School Principals. He originated GED (General Education Development) program for adults with Central Arizona College and established the Master Schedule B Conference Athletics for southern Arizona.
